The committee will “evaluate the state of readiness of AACSB's accreditation standards and processes to ensure the alignment of business practice and management education,” noted a release from AACSB International (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), the premier accrediting body for institutions offering undergraduate, master’s, and doctorate degrees in business and accounting.

The 20-member committee, whose other co-chair is the dean and director general of Grenoble École de Management in France, will perform a comprehensive review of AACSB accreditation standards, eligibility criteria, and the accreditation process. AACSB comprises more than 1,200 member educational institutions, businesses, and other organizations in 78 countries.

Sorensen chaired AACSB’s board of directors in 2005-06 and continues to serve as board champion for the doctoral education task force.
