New appointments at Pamplin

Gina French

Gina Rudd French (MGT ’88, MBA ’92) has been appointed assistant MBA director. She will develop relationships with employers and assist MBA students with job placement. French has 11 years of marketing experience, focusing on branding, strategic execution, and product management. She was an award-winning pharmaceutical sales representative at Sanofi Aventis in Los Angeles, where she lived for 17 years, and in Roanoke, where she relocated in 2009. She previously worked as a corporate trainer at May Company Department Stores and an account manager at Advance Business Systems.

Barbara Griffith

Barbara Griffith, college accountant, retired in December 2010 after 39 years at Virginia Tech. She joined Pamplin in September 1973 as a clerk stenographer. Providing fiscal support to the college, Griffith prepared budget allocations, scholarship awards, revenue and expense projections, and budget reports. “Her work ethic and dedication to Pamplin and Virginia Tech epitomize what it means to be an exceptional employee,” said associate dean for administration Kay Hunnings.

Tarun Sen, professor of accounting and information systems, has been conferred the “professor emeritus” title by the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors. Sen retired last fall after 25 years with the university, including three years as Pamplin’s associate dean of graduate and international programs and MBA director. He taught a variety of information systems courses and finished his career at Tech teaching in the master of information technology program at the Northern Virginia Center.
